"A starter of crab carpaccio, served as numerous wafer-thin discs under lines of a dark sauce, was a light, tasty opener. Then came an onslaught of flesh for mains: three enormous hunks of salted, braised pork that fell apart perfectly at the fork; and an ample john dory, delicately grilled. The restaurant's design is appealingly casual. Exposed brickwork and trendy curved chairs look sleek and relaxed, belying the relative smartness of the clientele; and there's a wonderful glass-roofed dining room at the back. Set behind the stylish, dark bar at the entrance, this room brings customers as close to alfresco dining as possible in the winter months. In summer, brightly lit and airy, it is one of the nicest spaces we've eaten."
