The inn, located on Devons historic Dartmoor National park, is reputedly one of the oldest inns in Britain and dates back to 825 AD. It was originally a nunnery and then a farm, but it was remodelled in 1081. It is now an archetypal English country pub with a thatched roof, tiny windows, rough stonewalls, slate floors, and loads of atmosphere. The transept window in the bar is said to be the oldest domestic windows in Britain.
