"Stumbled on this place for Sunday lunch while we were driving back to Edinburgh from Inverness. Honest to God, haven't had a Roast like it. Proper old fashioned roast that they serve with goose-fat roast potatoes (heaven), massive yorkshires, fresh veg and really amazing home-made gravy. Less than a tenner a head. Great! Finally found somewhere to stop on the trudge back from my Mother in Laws!"
"Very much in agreement with the previous reviewer. We visited The Inn for dinner last weekend and found it it to be quite unique. Very much in agreement with the previous reviewer. We visited The Inn for dinner last weekend and found it it to be quite unique. The location is beautiful and the staff extremely welcoming on arrival. It is a very relaxed place so no formal dress needed come as you are and enjoy, would be our advice. There is a fabulous big roaring fire right in the middle of the room open on all sides which is a real feature, and lovely big leather sofas in front of it. We too found the music very enjoyable and added to the experience. Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10
this place is simply outstanding. It's as if you have walked into a Tardis in the middle of the National Park in the Highlands! Everywhere we went was tartan tin atmosphere, stiff and predictable with average service and poor menu options. The Inn is sensory overload! We're music lovers so the playlist had us the moment we walked through the door - very mellow and moody, then up tempo modern vibes - very cool. The menu? Don't start me off - I'll be drooling. Such great twists on the traditional, other crazy things like home made chilli and white chocolate ice cream, loads of locally sourced ingredients, the best coffeee in the whole of scotland - we were dying after so much instant stuff that to find organic fairtrade was nirvana! Top it off with the nicest people working there and you're set for a great night. (wallin - August, 2007) |
